Because the world needs more blogs.  I don’t know about you, but I am always on top of all of my friends’ blogs, as well as all of the blogs on every and any topic that might interest me, and yet I still find time to twiddle my thumbs and ask myself “Why aren’t there more blogs for me to read?”

Really, though, my reasons for starting a new blog are as follows:

1.  I’ve just come back from the Festival of Faith and Writing at Calvin College, where I was not only told in one of the sessions that blogging regularly is a good thing for a writer (or aspiring writer) to do, but where I also got boatloads of inspiration that I feel I should do something with.

2.  It’s been a pretty long time since I last blogged, and somehow going back to my old one feels stale.  Call me fickle.

3.  WordPress is prettier than Blogspot.  I also like that I was able to figure out right away how to post my own picture for the heading.  I’m sure there’s a way to do that on blogspot too.  I’m just too lazy and/or contrary to figure it out.

4.  While this blog is still going to be primarily posts of my writing, I’d also like to post things that inspire or interest me.  So it’s going to be a little different than before.  To see what ‘before’ is and read stuff I’ve written in the past, you can visit my old blog here:  http://writingposts.blogspot.com/

Finally, if you are actually reading this, and especially if you ever comment on what I post, bless your heart for making me feel slightly less of a narcissist.
